Fewer adults reaching maturity

From a recent article on Discovery Channel News:
...a growing number of people are retaining the behaviors and attitudes associated with youth.

As a consequence, many older people simply never achieve mental adulthood, according to a leading expert on evolutionary psychiatry.
I love how they can report on the further mental and psychological degradation of the human race and in the same breath claim the title of evolutionary psychiatry. In the evolutionary universe, wouldn't maturity be...increasing? Would not we be experiencing a slow-but-steady improvement in human nature? After all, in their worldview, evolution is always pushing forward, always improving—and without sin or a sinful human nature, shouldn't we be seeing constant progress? This article presents a strange juxtaposition of the cold, hard facts of human nature as the Bible reveals it and the hopeless and unfounded humanism of the evolutionary worldview. This disconnect should be evident to anyone with a critical eye. If only more people would think...just think...

Think?! But they teach us in school to let the government do that for us! How dare you suggest we think for ourselves!
